Team 2 were engaged to provide designs for the adaptive re-use of this iconic building into a boutique student housing proposition. Located in Chippendale fronting Victoria Park. The thoughtful and delicate intervention accommodates 21 double and single rooms, as well as manger’s residence, all served by a lift.
Amenities include a rooftop terrace overlooking Sydney University, a ground floor soft breakout, a community café offering and basement bicycle parking.
Materiality reflects the warehouse history and adjoining mews houses in Elim Place, with a considered Palette of mixture of brickwork, sandstone, zinc and reinstated timber windows.
